Amanda Bynes, I’m Sorry

Amanda-Bynes-normalOne of the stronger arguments against the porn industry is that it sets an impossible standard for our little girls to meet. Forget what Barbie did to us, now there is an endless string of girls who look ‘perfect’ every day that the ladies we love are¬†compared to.

A painful example of this is Amanda Bynes. I recently found a quote from her that was quite saddening. She tweeted,

“I Need To Have Surgery To Look Beautiful For The Man I’m In Love With So I Feel Comfortable With The Way I Look When We Get Married”
-Amanda Bynes

How is it that a girl who has enjoyed fame for many years could feel this way? As you can see, there is nothing wrong with Amanda Bynes’ looks. We as a people need to love our little girls enough to NOT look at porn and NOT compare the ladies we love with an impossible standard.

If we men had been more responsible with our eyes and our hearts, maybe, just maybe, Amanda Bynes would never have been in the position of sending that tweet. Gentlemen, we need to do better. Our little girls with their tender hearts need us to take responsibility for this. It is in our power to start healing these deep wounds we have created.

So, Amanda Bynes, I looked at pictures of you. I contributed to that feeling in inadequacy in you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.
