When I started this blog last year, I was looking for an outlet for my thoughts and accountability for my actions. I was focused on helping others who had struggled with pornography but also keeping in front of me the reminder of why I was leaving that sin behind.
The pool of topics seemed inexhaustible. At one point, I was two weeks ahead in my writing because there was simply so much to say. As the months passed, I trimmed back from posting daily to only three times a week. This pace has been manageable for me. I have always feared that I would post simply because I was supposed to and that the material would suffer.
Over the last few weeks, it has gotten harder and harder to find anything new to write on the blog that was porn related. I have much I want to say on other topics, but this blog is called Porn and the Christian Guy because it has that focus.
It seems I have typed myself out of a blog.
It is time for a change. I am changing the blogs name to reflect the new focus on my own thoughts and struggles as son of God, husband, father, and son. There are so many questions and challenges I want to write about. The thought of a broader scope is very exciting.
Certainly I will continue to write about porn. In fact, I want to continue to Porn and the Christian Guy series, but only as often as I feel I have something worth writing about. The Count Vicegrim Letters will continue. I want to start a new series called Food and the Christian Guy to address my own idolatry with food. Finally, I want to more deeply explore the struggles and joys of being a husband and father.
But with this come a dilemma: what should I call the blog? I have considered many options including Being a Man, Fatherhood, Loving My Wife, Courage in a Cowardly World, etc…
None of these seem to hit the spot so I would love for my readers to offer any feedback about any names that would descriptively title the sorts of things I will be to write. Please put any suggestions on the comments section. You all are more creative than I am, so I look forward to your suggestions.
Finally, I want to thank all of my readers. It means so much to me that you follow the blog. If you weren’t there, I wouldn’t be writing. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write.
